The Trail of Tears

On this journey, The Trail of Tears, we traverse the townlands of Poulnadaree, Carradotia, Ballymacrinan, Clooneylissane, Moneen and Donogrogue. This trail explores the more tragic chapters of our parish’s history, marked by widespread evictions, hardship, and personal loss. Along the route, visitors will also encounter forts, castles, churches, and schools, as well as traces of past and present industries, offering a broader understanding of the lives, resilience, and heritage of the people who once lived and worked in this landscape.
