Easter 1916 Re-enactment

We commemorated the 1916 Rising through the medium of a re-enactment of a recorded incident that took place in Knockerra on Easter Sunday 27th March 2016. We also unveiled plaques in memory of the Volunteers of the 2nd Battalion of “A” Coy. & “E” Coy. & Cumann na mBan members from both sides of the parish. The parish really got involved with nearly everyone wearing period costumes and the local GAA team were well drilled as part of our re-enactment! It was a fantastic day enjoyed by all.
