Our Parish of Killimer is one of the smallest in the diocese of Killaloe, called after St Imy (Cill Imí – Cill translates as church, hence the church of Imy). In such a small parish the church plays a central role in many of the most important moments in our lives, the happy and sad. We also can claim two saints that were born and grew up in our Parish, the siblings St. Senan and St. Imy.
We have also worked very hard in the last number of years to map and transcribe all of the graves in our graveyards to make it easier for family members to find and read the graves, which in some cases in particular the older parts of Molougha and Burrane, have gotten difficult to read.
There is also a lot of beautiful pieces in our churches and graveyards. The stain glass windows and the engraved flags in particular are treasures to be minded.
